Child Safe Statement of Commitment

Through our values of Respect, Integrity, Justice, Compassion, and Shared Purpose, AnglicareCQ listens to the voices of children and young people and upholds their rights, providing a supportive environment in which their safety and wellbeing is assured.  

We respond assertively to observations and reports of treatment of children and young people, which is suspected of being violent, abusive, negligent, exploitative, or discriminatory. 

AnglicareCQ responds to observations, suspicions, and allegations of such treatment according to best practice, legislative and regulatory requirements, and provisions of service and other agreements with funding bodies and other partners.

Further, AnglicareCQ upholds young people’s human rights to privacy; to be cared for and protected; to freedom of expression and to participate in decisions affecting them; to education and play; to survive and develop; and to rehabilitation and care.

AnglicareCQ’s Care Governance Committee of the Board oversees the care and diligence employed to manage risk to children through regular reports on incidents and other matters of relevance.  All staff, contractors, and volunteers are responsible for maintaining the safety of young people, whether they are participants or otherwise.

AnglicareCQ is committed to the Queensland Family and Child Commission’s Child Safe Organisation initiative and Reportable Conduct Scheme. This is achieved through targeted staff recruitment, child safety training, and in our policies, procedures and day-to-day practices.

This is part of AnglicareCQ’s Child and Youth Risk Management Strategy.

Confidentiality & Privacy

AnglicareCQ is committed to protecting the confidentiality and privacy of personal information collected, stored and administered by our organisation; and people or organisations dealing with us understand our policies and practices for managing personal information.

We abide by the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 and the Queensland Information Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2023 (the IPOLA Act); and all new and current records are administered following the Australian Privacy Principles and the Queensland Privacy Principles.

This includes any personal information collected on this website, in your interactions with AnglicareCQ staff, or received from you by AnglicareCQ.
