Queensland is in a housing crisis.
26,397 families, or 47,036 people, are on Queensland’s social housing register. This is a 68.5% increase since 2017.
This campaign has been developed by QCOSS in partnership with AnglicareCQ (and 11 other NGO’s) to urge government to act on this crisis and build social housing.
22,000 Queenslanders sleep rough every night. 80% of Queensland is experiencing extremely low vacancy rates – in regional centres across Queensland, rates are as low as 0.2%.
If the 47,036 people on the register were to form a town, it would be the 5th largest in the state.
ALL Queenslanders should have a place to call home.
This is a real opportunity for individuals to support the campaign – there are two simple steps you can take to make a difference!
Step 1 Head over to the website at https://townofnowhere.com and scroll down and choose to tell your local MP to act on the Housing Crisis.
Step 2 Multiply your impact by sharing with your friends!
Let’s work together to make this change!
